Most of the paintings depict the sea, the sky, and the light in between. They are not naturalistic representations of what was seen, but rather expressions of its effect on the artist. Here, a turbulent sea unfolds, a mighty current powerfully pouring into fields of color and texture. Expressive and dynamic—these are the adjectives that best describe this work: the surging spray, the rhythmic and dynamic movements of the water. It is the essence of nature, captured in acrylic on canvas, an expression of rhythm and movement, perhaps also an inner necessity to preserve this moment. These are impressions of the sea, in bold colors like black, various shades of blue and turquoise, punctuated by warm orange and yellow accents, creating a powerful atmosphere.
