In the hands of Rolf Krieger, abstract art emerges from light and movement. This means that with the camera mounted firmly on a tripod, the abstract works are created by opening the camera's aperture for a long exposure of several seconds, and the artist moves the light tools in front of the camera. The light pulsates in various colors, as he uses the latest LED technology for his light tools. The technique of light painting requires darkness during shooting; the works are created in the studio or outdoors at night. During light painting, the artist cannot see, but only sense, how his work is taking shape and whether he will be happy with the result. This makes the compositions irreplicable, meaning that the shot can only be achieved once in this form.
