This zipper, separating the two halves of the image, transforms it into an interactive artwork that can exist both as a single whole and disassembled into two parts. The artist plays with the concepts of divisibility and mutability, alluding to the multifaceted nature of human perception.
What makes this work special is that the zipper symbolically represents the left and right hemispheres of the brain – the separation between rational and creative thinking. The horizontal line becomes the interface between the two hemispheres, which communicate not only visually but also conceptually.
